"Mock Trial Society at Dartmouth : 02-03 Season"
The Society's Ethan Levine recently sent this short description. We'll follow up with Ethan and ask him and his fellow members to tell us more about the MTS, its members and this year's schedule.
-
=====
The Mock Trial Society is a student-run organization of forty to fifty students that competes regionally and nationally in structured tournaments. We field four teams consisting of eight members each who need to prepare both the plaintiff/prosecution and the defendant side of the case to argue against teams from other schools.
-
In each trial round, three "attorneys" and three "witnesses" from a given team compete. Attorneys give opening statements and summations as well as direct and cross examinations of each witness. Arguments and characters are based upon a standard case packet distributed to universities across the nation.
-
In February, we usually compete in two different Regional Tournaments in order to try to gain bids to one of the two national tournaments in Minneapolis, MN and Des Moines, IA.
-
The organization has been in existence for only six years and has sent at least one team to nationals five out of those six years. In the past two years, we have sent the maximum two teams to a national tournament and at least one team in the past three years.
-
Two years ago, one of the teams finished in first place in its division at the Minneapolis Silver Flight National Tournament. This year we have extremely talented teams that have aspirations of gaining bids to a national tournament and hopefully
succeeding there.
-
Best,
Ethan Levine '03
Vice President of Membership
Dartmouth Mock Trial Society

-
We've asked Ethan to visit the Forum and post a few words about himself and how he was drawn to the MTS, then answer some questions in an ongoing "interview" on this message board.
-
Other Forum readers, especially other MTS members (past and present) are encouraged to pose their own questions and comments about the MTS by replies to the messages and questions posted in this thread.

1. "RE: Mock Trial Society at Dartmouth : 02-03 Season"
Hi,

I'm a senior at Dartmouth this year. I've been involved with Mock Trial Society since I first came to Dartmouth. It was a natural connection for me since I had also done it for four years in high school.

It has been a ton of fun and really challenging. The structure of the program teaches us to formulate arguments, think on our feet, and public speaking skills. Although we are entirely student run (unlike most other schools that have attorney-coaches and students may even receive course credit for their participation), we are quite competitive which makes the team even more enjoyable.

It's a great group of people from very diverse backgrounds, some are interested in law school, some in acting, and some just find it really fun.

We just got back from Yale where we exhibited our incoming freshmen and they performed quite well. We're really excited to contend at Regionals this year in February.

2. "Getting Started in the Mock Trial Society"
Ethan, can you tell us a bit about how many students are in your program from each class, how you recruit freshmen, and how new members progress to the competitions?
-
For example, do you have "J.V." squads and "Varsity" squads, or is there a "heeling" stage for new members?

4. "RE: Getting Started in the Mock Trial Society"
Society membership has reached its highest total in the society's existence. We have over 50 individuals currently involved with the program. During a given term with the D-Plan, we always have less than that number. This upcoming winter, we are anticipating around 45 people involved.

Team selection is an evolving process. In the past, there was not an issue of having enough spots for those interested. For instance, my freshman year, we fielded only two teams at Regionals where there is a maximum of four teams per school. As previously described we have four teams at Regionals, probably two teams going to two separate ones. Since there are 8 people per team, this allows for only 32 people to compete at Regionals. We often add up to two alternate spots per team as well, allowing for up to 40 spots.

Since we are still in the team selection development process, we have not gotten it figured out to an exact science. We basically evaluate individuals during a tryout in early October and then their performances at the Yale Invitational. We try to allow for everyone to compete at least at the Yale tournament every year, even if they are not granted a spot for Regionals. Thus, we treat Yale as more of an exhibition round for us. Other schools that have been preparing since September, use it to field their top teams which says a lot for our program. Overall, the teams went 8-8, exhibiting a lot of talent and skill. This deep talent and skill will make it difficult to form Regional teams this year. Mock Trial Society does not exclude anyone and people are encouraged to continue participating in the society even if they are not competing in Regionals.

5. "Recruiting for Mock Trial Society"
Additionally, the society contains quite a bit of younger members. There are about 7 seniors, 12 juniors, 15 sophomores, and close to 20 freshmen. The freshmen are recruited via a few avenues. One, we hold an exhibition trial during Prospectives Weekend in the Spring and another during Orientation week in the Fall to introduce freshmen to College Mock Trial. We are present at a variety of Activities Fairs as well. This combination allows for people to be educated about the program and seems to be successful judging from the amount of interested freshmen this year. Our recruiting is based on getting a large pool of people so we can attain the best talent possible.

LAST EDITED ON Nov-14-02 AT 07:55 PM (EDT)

LAST EDITED ON Nov-14-02 AT 07:53 PM (EDT)

Hello,

I am also a senior at Dartmouth, majoring in Italian Literature and Geography. Similar to Ethan, I have done Mock Trial for the past four years since I had enjoyed the experience so much in high school.

Along with establishing our public speaking and analytical skills, the Mock Trial Society is a place where students from all academic interests and classes can interact on both an intellectual and social level. Competing on one of the Yale Invitational teams, I was able to meet new members of the '06 class and learn more about them and their interests. Too often our friends represent a group of people with whom we have in common either age or academic fields, however in Mock Trial, one can interact with students from all classes and interests, those who are interested in attending law school after graduation and those who are just interested in law. For me, this has been the best part of the Mock Trial experience.

The Yale tournament was highly successful as it gave all freshmen a taste for college mock trial as well as experience for the upcoming regional tournaments this winter, After competing in a series of four trials over a 2-day time span, we returned home to dartmouth intellectually and socially stimulated, along with an individual award best attorney award for one of our students.

We look forward to more success in our upcoming tournaments!

7. "RE: Mock Trial Society at Dartmouth : 02-03 Season"
Hi everyone-

I couldn't resist chiming on the mock trial discussion. Doug, I can't express how happy I am to see the DLA focus some attention on the work of these talented students. As you (Doug) know but others may not, I was a founding member of the organization back in 1996 and served as its president for three subsequent years. Since I left Dartmouth, students like Stephanie Hogan '02, Matt Levine '02, Tim Cahill '03, Ethan, and Tina have done such a superb job running the group that membership is bursting at the seams and funding is having a difficult time keeping up with the group's ever-growing list of successes.

I attended the Yale Invitational this month and watched one of Dartmouth's four teams compete. I left happy in the knowledge that the program is well on its way to another strong competition season.

I assume that Ethan, Tina, and their fellow officers are going to contact many of us through the DLA and/or local Dartmouth clubs to invite us to come watch them compete in regional and (fingers crossed) national competitions this year. I strongly urge all DLA members to take them up on the offer; you will be impressed with the level of preparation, professionalism, talent, and fluency with trial practice and procedure demonstrated by Dartmouth's team members.

Best to all.

6. "Mock Trial Society : Time Commitment?"
Ethan, with the recruiting, preparation and travel to tournaments, how much of a time commitment is this for the average member? Do you get any class credits, or is this strictly 'extracurricular'?

8. "RE: Mock Trial Society : Time Commitment?"
The time commitment for MTS varies from term to term. In the fall, for preparation for the Yale Invitational and the start of Regional team practice, students can commit anywhere from 4-8 hours per week. This time includes general team meetings, individual team meetings, meetings between attorneys and their respective witnesses, preparation on their own, and practice trials (which can last from 2-3 hours on their own).

In the winter, I would say that an even higher level of commitment is expected as Regionals approach in February. Time commitment per week can range from 6 to maybe 12 or more hours per week for the aforementioned duties. Plus, when competing a student has to dedicate a Thursday to Sunday weekend. If a team were to get to nationals, they would have to prepare about just as much as they did for Regionals and sacrifice another weekend sometime in March or April.

Mock Trial is purely extracurricular here at Dartmouth. No credit is assessed for time dedicated which is a real statement to our program. We have truly motivated and inspired students working to succeed in competition.

9. "RE: Mock Trial Society : How Funded?"
Ethan, it sounds like those involved in the Society put in tremendous effort and time, without course credit. It is a testament to the value put on the program by the students and the volunteers who work at the tournaments.
-
With all the travel and arrangements for the tournaments, you must have significant funding needs. How much does all this cost and where does the money come from?
-
If one of our readers wanted to send some support to the Society, where might they send a check?

10. "RE: Mock Trial Society : How Funded?"
We are very proud of our members and grateful to those who generously volunteer their time to support our teams' efforts.

-

With the increase in membership over the last few years, the Mock Trial budget has increased tremendously as well. In the past, we have received funding from the Council of Student Organizations (COSO) which is responsiblie for funding the needs of all college organizations . However, because of our budget's growth (due to travel expenses to Regional and National Tournaments in Minnesota and Iowa) it is becoming more difficult for COSO to fund us entirely as our $ 30,000 to 40,000 funding need disproportionally takes up a great deal their yearly budget. Due to the strain we place on the College's budget, we are currently exploring other funding possibilties but are finding the task a bit difficult as we have so much need.

Any mail or support would greatly be appreciated and can be sent to:

11. "RE: Mock Trial Society at Dartmouth : 02-03 Season"
Just a note to those of you in the greater Hartford, CT area...two Dartmouth Mock Trial Society teams will compete in a regional tournament at Manchester Community Technical College in Manchester, CT this coming weekend with rounds at 1pm and 6pm on Friday, 9am and 2pm on Saturday, and--hopefully--the championship round at 830am on Sunday. The more Big Green support the better! If you choose to join me in attending, look for information in the AST Rotunda (you will be looking for teams #472 and #473) or feel free to call me at (607) 222-3061.

And a heads-up for New York metro area folks, the other two Dartmouth teams will be competing at St. Johns on the weekend of the 14th-16th. More details to come...

12. "RE: Mock Trial Society at Dartmouth : 02-03 Season"
Thank you Dave for giving the heads up regarding our competition this upcoming weekend. We are extremely excited and ready to compete in our first regional tournament of the year. Dave's times for the competition rounds were correct, but we wont necessarily have teams 472 and 473 going there. Look for teams that are registered under any of the following: 472, 473, 474 or 475. Additionally, if you would like to get in contact with me because you are interested in attending a competition round, please feel free to e-mail me at ethan.levine@dartmouth.edu or call my cell phone (973) 723-1705. The team would love to have anyone interested in attendance. Wish us luck!

14. "Mock Trial results!"
At risk of stealing Ethan and Tina's thunder...but I just can't resist...

The DLA should be extremely proud of our friends at the Mock Trial Society after superb performances in both regional competitions. The highlights are numerous...

1) One of Dartmouth's teams completed the St John's regional with a perfect 8-0 record, a first place trophy, and bid to the National Championship tournament to be held by Dartmouth lawyer Dick Calkins '53 and others in Des Moines in April.

2) Another of Dartmouth's teams finished in 3rd place (of 20 or so teams) in the highly competitive Manchester, CT regional and similarly earned a trip to the National Championships, marking the first time that Dartmouth will send two teams (the maximum allowed) to that tournament.

3) The other two of Dartmouth's four teams, comprised largely of first and second-year students, each came away with very respectable and hard fought middle of the pack finishes.

4) Dartmouth attorneys and witnesses captured numerous individual performance awards including 1 or possibly 2 perfect scores (a feat rare in these competitions but seemingly commonplace for Dartmouth after Matt Levine '02 did it twice as a witness).

For any Dartmouth lawyers in the midwest...look for Dartmouth's teams in Des Moines on the weekend of April 5th and 6th. I am sure that they would be excited to have some Big Green supporters in the audience. I am sure that Ethan will provide more details about the competition as it draws closer.

Congratulations are in order for all!

Best,

13. "RE: Mock Trial Society in Hartford Area end of January"
Dave and Ethan, living in the Hartford area, I was excited to hear you'll be right here this weekend. But for the fact my family and I are booked in a B&B in Vermont for the weekend and leaving Friday noon, I'd be there with my 16-year old daughter to support you and add some photos of the team to the website.
-
If someone can take some "team photos" at the Manchester competition, I'd very much like to add them to the collection on the DLA website. We already have some taken by Rebecca Kurzweil '03 from the January 17 exhibition event in Hanover,

, and more would be great. Digital photos (or digitized from film at the lab), only please.

15. "RE: Mock Trial Society at Dartmouth : 02-03 Season"
The following are Mock Trial Society Press Releases describing Dartmouth’s performance at the 2003 Regional Tournaments. If you have any questions or comments please respond to this post or contact Mock Trial via Blitz.

David Rhinesmith ‘05
Secretary, Dartmouth Mock Trial Society

PRESS RELEASE (Feb 4th 2003):
Dartmouth Mock Trial’s Outstanding Performance at the New England Regional

This past weekend marked Dartmouth Mock Trial’s most successful regional tournament appearance ever, with Dartmouth’s two teams finishing 6-2 (W-L) and 5-3, and earning respective 3rd and 10th place out of the 26-team field. The teams performed exceptionally well, winning several individual awards, team recognition, and numerous citations. This was Dartmouth’s first regional showing in 2003, and it helped solidify Dartmouth’s status among the nation’s top Mock Trial programs.

Every year, the American Mock Trial Association distributes a case file to approximately 250 schools nationwide, each of which assembles up to four teams to compete in one of 17 regional tournaments. The top teams from each tournament are sent to the National Intercollegiate Tournament in St. Paul, Minnesota, and the National Championship Tournament in Des Moines, Iowa. Competitions consist of four rounds with two judges each, for a total of eight potential "ballots" to win each tournament.

The New England Regional Tournament at which two Dartmouth teams competed took place Friday, January 31st and Saturday, February 1st at Manchester Community College in Manchester, Connecticut. The teams competing were the first two of Dartmouth’s four regional teams with the second paring of teams set to compete the weekend of February 15th and 16th.

Dartmouth’s team Silver, led by captain Henry Shi ‘03, finished 3rd overall with a record of six wins and two losses. Both losses came in an extremely close match against eventual tournament champion Holy Cross. The third place finish earned team Silver a direct bid to the nation’s most prestigious competition, the National Championship Tournament in Des Moines, Iowa. Excellent performances were given by attorneys Tim Cahill ’03, Gwen Carroll ’04, and witnesses Will Rack ’04, Cordelia Zukerman ’06, and Ethan Levine ’03. Highlighting team Silver’s success were individual awards earned by Dan Preysman ‘04, who received one of twelve Outstanding Attorney awards, and Ali Amrhein ’06 who received one of ten Outstanding Witness awards.

Dartmouth’s Team Green, lead by captains Jed Sorokin-Altmann ’05 and Stacy Kourlis ’06, did exceptionally well, finishing in 10th place with a record of five wins and three losses and narrowly missing a bid to the National Tournament in St. Paul, MN. Excellent performances were given by witnesses Madeline Hwang ’05, Lauren Schweitzer ’06, Alex Gelman ’06, and attorneys Colleen Wearn ’06, and David Rhinesmith ’05. Stellar individual performances were rewarded with honors for Stacy Kourlis ’06, who received an Outstanding Attorney award, and Michael Ellis ’06, who received an Outstanding Witness award. Ellis, in his first year of college competition, finished as the No. 1 witness at the regional tournament, the only individual on 26 teams to receive a perfect score throughout the competition.

Highlights of the rounds included team Silver sweeping the top teams from powerhouses Boston University and Yale. Team Green’s highlights included sweeping both ballots from host team and perennial contender Manchester Community College.

The team would like to give special thanks to team members Megan Hamilton ’06 and Dartmouth Mock Trial treasurer Tina Catania ’03. Both were extremely helpful and provided much needed support over the course of the weekend. The team would also like to thank Dartmouth Mock Trial Alumni Dave Gacioch ’00 and Dennis Recca ’02 for their support and assistance over the weekend.

This year's National Intercollegiate tournament in St. Paul, the Silver Flight tournament, is scheduled for the weekend of March 15. The National Championship tournament, the Gold Flight tournament, in Des Moines, Iowa will be held the weekend of April 5. Team Silver will continue to prepare through the end of the term in preparation for the National Championship competition.
Dartmouth's Mock Trial Society and its competition teams are student-led and student-directed. Dartmouth was the only school at the New England Regional with two teams finishing in the top ten and the only school to earn two individual awards in both the Outstanding Witness and Outstanding Attorney categories.
The Dartmouth Mock Trial society would like to thank its faculty advisor professor Walter Sinnott-Armstrong, Lieutenant Michael Evans, Accident Reconstructionist Officer David Luther, Captain Frank Moran and everyone else who helped with preparation or practice trials for their support and advice. The Dartmouth Mock Trial Society is grateful for the continued financial support of the Committee on Student Organizations and the Student Activities Office.

PRESS RELEASE (Feb 18th 2003):
Dartmouth Mock Trial Continues Best Season to Date by Winning Northeast Regional

This past weekend Dartmouth Mock Trial continued it most successful season to date by winning a regional tournament for the first time in school history, with Dartmouth’s two teams finishing 8-0 (W-L) and 4-4. Dartmouth’s undefeated 8-0 team was awarded 1st place in the 22-team field as the best team at the tournament, bringing the Northeast Regional Championship Trophy back to Hanover. Overall, both teams performed exceptionally well, also winning an individual award, team recognition, and numerous citations. This was Dartmouth’s second regional appearance in 2003, and it further solidified Dartmouth’s status among the nation’s top Mock Trial programs.

The Northeast Regional Tournament at which these two Dartmouth teams competed took place Friday, February 14th, Saturday, February 15th, and Sunday, February 16th at St. Johns University in Jamaica, New York. The teams competing were the final two of Dartmouth’s four regional teams, with the first paring of teams having competed at the New England Regional two weeks earlier.

Dartmouth’s team White, led by captain Jeremy Presser ‘04, finished in first place overall with a record of eight wins and zero losses. The first place finish earned team White a direct bid to the nation’s most prestigious competition, the National Championship Tournament in Des Moines, Iowa. Attorney Tara Maller ‘03, and witnesses Tina Catania ‘03, Joe Ackley ‘03, Paul Mazzuca ‘04, Andrew Kraebel ‘06, and Terri-Anne Segovia ‘05 all gave excellent performances. Highlighting team White’s success was an individual award earned by Victoria Corder ‘05, who earned a perfect score throughout the competition to win the No. 1 Outstanding Attorney award as the best attorney at the regional. Over the three days of competition team White defeated the top teams from perennial rival Syracuse University, host team St. Johns University, and an outstanding team from powerhouse Columbia University to win the Regional.

Dartmouth’s team Gold, lead by captains Cassandra Welch ‘04 and Jonathan Tullis ’05, made an excellent showing and finished with a record of four wins and four losses. Excellent performances were given by witnesses Lauren Hoehlein ’05, Sara Hudson ’05, Jason Beeler ‘06, Scott Glabe ’06, and attorneys Evan Mendelson ’06 and Katherine Lawson ’06. Team Gold performed admirably, earning numerous citations and rallying after facing difficult competition to sweep its final two opponents.

The team would like to give special thanks to Dartmouth Mock Trial Society officers Tim Cahill ’03, Dan Preysman ’04, Ethan Levine ’03, and David Rhinesmith ’05 for organizing and assisting with this trip. All were extremely helpful and provided much needed support over the course of the weekend. The team would also like to thank Dartmouth Mock Trial Alumni Dave Gacioch ’00 and Stephanie Hogan ’02 for their support and assistance over the weekend.

The National Championship tournament, the nation’s most prestigious competition, will be held in Des Moines, Iowa the weekend of April 5th. For the first time in the program’s history, Dartmouth Mock Trial has won the maximum number of bids given to one school, meaning Dartmouth will send two teams directly to the 50-team competition. Dartmouth’s team Silver won a bid to the tournament at the New England Regional two weeks earlier. Team White and team Silver will both continue to work vigorously through the end of the term in preparation for the National Championships.

The following is the Mock Trial Society Press Release describing Dartmouth’s performance at the 2003 National Championship. If you have any questions or comments please respond to this post or contact Mock Trial via Blitz.

David Rhinesmith ‘05
Secretary, Dartmouth Mock Trial Society

PRESS RELEASE (April 2003):
Dartmouth Mock Trial Concludes Best Season In Team History With Outstanding Effort At the National Championship Tournament

Over the weekend of April 4th, 5th, and 6th Dartmouth Mock Trial concluded its most successful season ever, fielding two teams at National Championship Tournament in Des Moines, Iowa. Both teams performed admirably, representing Dartmouth well and winning numerous citations. This marked Dartmouth’s third consecutive appearance at the National Championship Tournament.

Every year, the American Mock Trial Association distributes a case file to approximately 250 schools nationwide, each of which assembles up to four teams to compete in one of 20 regional tournaments. The top teams from each tournament are sent to the National Intercollegiate Tournament in St. Paul, Minnesota, and the National Championship Tournament in Des Moines, Iowa. Competitions consist of four rounds with two judges each, for a total of eight potential "ballots" to win each tournament.

The National Championship Tournament in Des Moines, Iowa is the nation’s most prestigious college Mock Trial competition. Bids to the tournament are only awarded to teams that place third or better at a regional tournament and to the top four teams from the National Intercollegiate Tournament in St. Paul. The 2003 National Championship tournament involved 64 teams competing in two divisions over a three-day period. For the first time ever, Dartmouth was one of a handful of schools, including perennial powerhouses such as Furman and Iowa, to have the maximum of two teams competing in the championship field of 64. The winner of the 2003 National Championship Tournament was the University of Iowa.

Dartmouth’s team Silver, led by captain Henry Shi ‘03, made an outstanding effort against still competition. On Friday, in an extremely close match, Team Silver tied eventual Division Champion and National Championship runner-up Howard University. On the whole, excellent performances were given by attorneys Tim Cahill ’03, Dan Preysman ’04, and witnesses Will Rack ’04, Cordelia Zukerman ’06, Ethan Levine ’03, Ali Amrhein '06, and Megan Hamilton ’06. Team Silver faced stiff competition, including some of the tournament’s top teams: Washington University, Weber State, and Howard University. With exceptional effort given by the entire team throughout the weekend, Team Silver was in the running for a top ten finish until the conclusion of the final round.

Dartmouth’s team White, led by captain Jeremy Presser ‘04, also made an excellent showing versus difficult opposition. Attorneys Tara Maller ’03, Stacy Kourlis ’06, and witnesses Tina Catania ‘03, Joe Ackley ‘03, Paul Mazzuca ‘04, Andrew Kraebel ‘06, and Terri-Anne Segovia ‘05 all gave superb performances. Team White also faced difficult competition throughout the tournament, including a top ten team from Furman University, but rebounded to go undefeated against Yale during Sunday’s round of competition.

The team would like to give special thanks to Dartmouth Mock Trial Society Secretary David Rhinesmith ’05, and to Evan Mendelson ’06, Jonathan Tullis ’05, Michael Ellis ’06, and Katherine Lawson ’06, for organizing and assisting with this trip. All were invaluably helpful and provided much needed support over the course of the weekend.

This was the first time in the program’s history that Dartmouth Mock Trial won the maximum number of bids to the National Championship Tournament given to one school. Despite the extremely challenging competition, these teams both finished with Dartmouth’s best record yet at the National Championship Tournament. Given the wealth of young talent on these teams, the Dartmouth Mock Trial team is looking forward to the chance to return to the National Championship Tournament in 2004.

The Dartmouth Mock Trial society would like to thank its faculty advisor professor Walter Sinnott-Armstrong, Lieutenant Michael Evans, Accident Reconstructionist Officer David Luther, Captain Frank Moran, Dr. Vijay Thadani, attorneys Geoffery Vitt, Robert Buckley '66, Bob Donin, Dave Bradley '58, and Bill Koppenheffer '73 and everyone else who helped with preparation or practice trials for their support and advice. The Dartmouth Mock Trial Society is extremely grateful for the continued financial support of the Committee on Student Organizations, the generous support of the Rockefeller Center, and the assistance of the Student Activities Office.

18. "RE: Mock Trial Society at Dartmouth : 02-03 Season"
Hi,
I was this year’s Mock Trial president, and as my term of office comes to a close, I wanted to add a few thoughts about my experience with the organization.

Ethan and Tina have done a terrific job explaining the growth of our program and how we prepare and compete. We’ve seen a remarkable transformation over the seasons that I’ve been at Dartmouth, both in terms of our success at competition and also in terms of the amount of interest and involvement in our organization. This year we had our largest recruiting class ever among the ‘06s, and we were able to field four very competitive teams at regional tournaments. For the first time ever, two of those teams qualified directly for the National Championship tournament in Des Moines, marking the fifth straight year that out performance at the national level has made it our best season yet. We didn’t quite place in the Top 10 in Des Moines this season, but we came closer than ever, and next season it will certainly be within our reach.

Last week, we held elections for the 2003-2004 officers, and I was very reassured by the number of dedicated individuals who ran for positions and by the enthusiasm of those who were elected. Two of this year’s officers will be back – Dan Preysman is the organization’s new president and Tina Catania returns as the Treasurer. The three new officers are: Jeremy Presser, as the Vice-President of Organization, Stacy Kourlis as the Vice-President of Membership, and Gwendolyn Carroll as the Secretary. As an organization that is almost entirely student-run, it’s essential for Mock Trial to have quality leadership, and these five officers will certainly uphold that standard, as all of them have proven their commitment to the program.

Thank you for taking an ongoing interest in our achievements throughout this season, and I sincerely hope that you’ll continue to do so next season and beyond. Being president this year was a remarkable experience, and I look forward to seeing Dartmouth’s teams continue to have great success.

Tim Cahill ‘03
