The Dartmouth Lawyers Association was proud to welcome alumni and friends to this year’s annual American Bar Association meetings with a reception in downtown Chicago. Hosted and co-sponsored by Joe Yastrow ’75 and the Chicago labor and employment law firm of Laner Muchin, the July 30th reception brought alumni attorneys together to kick off the ABA meetings in style with terrific food and drink in a beautiful venue. The event was well-attended by more than fifty alumni and friends who live and work in the greater Chicago area or were in town for the ABA events. Honored guests included Tracey-Salmon Smith ’87, Associate General Counsel of UBS Financial Services, Inc. and the incoming Co-Chair of the ABA Litigation Section’s Committee on Corporate Counsel, as well as past ABA President and former Chair of the Dartmouth Trustees Bill Neukom ’64 and The Honorable Frank Sullivan, Jr. ’72, Associate Justice of the Indiana Supreme Court. In the future, the DLA hopes to sponsor other regional receptions to welcome members who cannot make it to the Association’s annual meeting or mid-winter “ski and learn” meeting. As a reminder, this year’s annual meeting of the DLA will be in New York City, October 8 through 11, 2009. All members are encouraged to attend, and further information is available at www.dla.org or from Jeff Carton ’88 (jcarton@mdpcelaw.com), the DLA Annual Meeting Chair.
